With a little bit of knowledge, nature is your grocery store. Learn to identify spring greens, flowers and other wild plants available this time of year and how you can eat them.
Some people forage for survival, others to save on the grocery bill, still others for fun. Foraging is a wonderful way to spend time outside, learn plant identification, try new foods, nourish your body, and strengthen your connection to the earth and the food it produces.
This class starts with some basic ground rules and safety considerations about harvesting wild edibles. Then you head outside to identify edibles growing and blooming in the late spring and early summer. You also learn about plants you definitely do not want to eat. Back inside, taste some samples (optional) and discuss easy ways to make wild edibles part of your meals.
Special Information: This class takes place inside and outside. Dress for the weather.
