For many, summer is a busy time of year as they take advantage of the limited number of warm weekends. You are invited to slow down and celebrate the Summer Solstice with Audubon. Come for as long as you like and take the time to relax in nature with friends, family, reflections, and a bonfire.
The Summer Solstice and the surrounding days have been celebrated in a multitude of countries and cultures for hundreds of years. Around the world today, bonfires are still lit in celebration, often accompanied by festivals with food, friends and music. Take this time to reflect on what feelings, actions and practices you want to leave behind and what you want to take with you or begin anew during this time of change in both the seasons and our lives. You will also have the opportunity to participate in a reflective sunset hike on the trails.
Audubon will have a bonfire blazing at the Urban Pavilion on the west side of the property. Come and celebrate the season as we embrace the changing seasons and abundance of light.
Special Information: This program is outdoors. Please plan to walk a quarter mile to the bonfire and dress for the weather.
COVID-19 Information: ACNC does not require face coverings outdoors, but does ask that unvaccinated individuals wear face coverings when inside the Nature Center building.
