More and more people are hearing about the importance of planting with plants that grow naturally in an area. These plants are known as natives. Gardeners and researchers alike are learning why it is so important to garden with natives. This program will go into the benefits of planting with natives, the risks that non-native and invasive plants pose, and general tips and plant ideas for adding native plants to your yards and garden.

Jonathan Townsend is co-founder of Royal Fern Nursery, a nursery devoted to native plants near Fredonia, NY. He has been involved with numerous local projects designed to bring native plants back into the landscaping.
