Volunteer Day Team Challenge (Volunteers)

Saturday, April 24, 2021
8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Free
Reservations preferred, walk-ins welcome.

Celebrate Earth Day by giving back. Join Audubon Community Nature Center staff and volunteers as they work on projects to maintain and improve the Nature Center building and grounds.

This year ACNC is inviting teams (6-8 people) to help with many projects that need attention here at ACNC. Families make great teams, as do groups of friends, clubs, and even local businesses. Don’t have a team but still want to attend? Sign up and we will find a team for you to join.

On Saturday morning, Teams will select a specific work project. The challenge will be for the teams to successfully complete their project. Work projects include pulling non-native plants, sprucing up the gardens, working on the outdoor turtle habitats, picking up trash as part of the Roadside Cleanup, and more. First come, first served so arrive on time. After all the hard work, stick around and celebrate our accomplishments with lunch. This event happens rain or shine, so dress for the weather and bring work gloves if you have them.

Schedule:
8:30 – 9:00 a.m.: Check in
9:00 a.m.: Selecting work projects.
9:30 a.m. – noon: Work Projects
Noon – 1:00 p.m: Lunch (COVID-19 style with lots of social distancing)

Special Information: This event takes place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and bring work gloves if you have them. Lunch is served at noon.

COVID-19 Information: Face coverings are required for all participants ages 3 and up for indoor programs; they are also required for outdoor programs during which participants cannot maintain 6 feet of distance between family groups. Please have a face covering available should situations change. If you are feeling ill, have any symptoms of COVID-19, or have come into contact with a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case, please stay home. Please be aware that if Audubon discovers that a program instructor or participant tests positive or is considered presumptive positive for COVID-19, they may use registration information to assist with contact tracing.
