The Jamestown chapter of the Audubon Society was founded in 1957 by a group of individuals who were inspired by the wonder of nature. It was their dream to create a place where local residents could come and learn about the many natural treasures found in our own back yards. Since then, Audubon Community Nature Center has become an indispensable part of the local community providing environmental education programs for all ages.

Join ACNC in celebrating and honoring the people who have connected the community to nature. Who was it that nurtured your connection to nature? Was it a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, camp counselor, teacher, or child? On this Saturday before Thanksgiving, let us gather to remember the people who encouraged us to explore the great outdoors. The program will include brief remarks remembering those who have inspired those connections, followed by a planting of daffodil bulbs in their honor. A potluck lunch will be served following the planting.

Dress for being outdoors, and bring garden gloves, and a hand tool for digging. If you are physically unable to participate in the planting, but still interested in planting a bulb to honor someone you love, Audubon staff members will be there to assist you.
