Join staff and volunteers to make the Nature Center buildings and grounds more beautiful and friendly for visitors and the wildlife residents. Celebrate Earth Day by giving back.
Sign up ahead of time so staff can better plan for the day. On Saturday morning, choose a crew to work on a specific project. Projects include pulling non-native plants, planting native seeds and shrubs, sprucing up the gardens, picking up trash as part of the Roadside Cleanup, and more. You’ll be dirty and tired at the end of it all, but oh-so-satisfied with the work accomplished. The work happens rain or shine and all usually have a blast regardless. After all the hard work, lunch is provided to all volunteers.
Schedule:
8:30 – 9:00 a.m.: Registration
9:00 a.m.: Select a work crew and learn about the importance of what you are doing.
9:30 a.m. – noon: Work, work, work (and have fun!)
Noon – 1:00 p.m.: Lunch and prizes
