Apple All Year Long: Planting and Grafting (Adult)
Friday, April 6, 2018, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
$16 Adults; $12 Nature Center members
Paid reservations required by Wednesday, April 4.
Limited enrollment.

Gain an introduction to grafting techniques for apple trees to replicate favorites or known varieties as well as learn the best way to plant your new apple tree.

If you collected scion wood in the spring while pruning, this is the time to graft it onto your rootstock. For those starting their home orchard, April is the best time regionally to plant fruit trees. Learn how to give your fruit tree a good start with the best planting techniques.

Grafting is an art, and you walk away with an overview of it from this class. There are different grafting techniques and methods, so you can choose the ones that work the best for your situation.

Special Information: Please bring your own sharp knife (a utility knife works) for cutting and splicing.

  • If ACNC cancels the program, students receive full refunds.
  • If a participant cancels before the deadline, a refund, less $5 processing fee, will be made.
  • If a participant cancels after the deadline, no refund will be made, but please still notify Audubon of your cancellation.
