Enjoy an informative and entertaining talk about Pennsylvania Timber Rattlesnakes.
This talk will cover many aspects of the rattlesnake including reproduction, denning habits, the difference between venomous and poisonous, how to determine the sex of a snake, and so on.
Rick Rupprecht spent a career as a math teacher at JCC but has spent his entire life enjoying the outdoors in many ways. He has been curious about timber rattlesnakes since his early 20's when he had a personal experience with one. This past July he accompanied his brother and nephew on a Pennsylvania Rattlesnake Hunt. While he is not an expert on snakes in any way, the research done for this talk is based on at least a half-dozen different sources. Most of the pictures, and all of the videos, were taken by Rick this past July.
Special Information: BYO brown bag lunch and conversation follows the program. Audubon provides coffee and tea.
