Learn all about birds of prey through hands on activities and a visit with live birds.
Visit the Nature Center for a day all about birds of prey. To help you learn more about these amazing birds, there will be hands-on activities that demonstrate their unique hunting techniques. Find out what owls eat by dissecting an owl pellet. Make a craft to take home. Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the non-releasable Bald Eagle, Liberty, or help build a life-size eagle nest.
Fun patches will be available for Scouts and others for an additional $3.
The highlight of the day will be the live birds of prey. Mark Baker of Eagle Dreams, a licensed raptor rehabilitator, will be at the Nature Center with several of his birds that are unable to be released back into the wild. Visit with Mark and his birds throughout the day. Learn more during programs at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
