Extend your garden season with tips and tools.
In this climate, growing things all year long can be a challenge. Learn about cold-hardy vegetables, tools such as cold-frames and cloches that create warmer microclimates, and simple frost protection to make the harvest last a little bit longer or come on a little bit earlier in the spring.
Learn from Sarah Hatfield and other local gardeners the ways they keep their gardens producing into the fall and through winter. This will be a short program followed by a panel questions and answer session. Hands-on demonstrations will be available in the ACNC kitchen garden.
This program is the second of three in a series funded by Cummins Engine Plant.
Special Information: Come prepared to go out to the vegetable garden, dress for the weather with appropriate footwear.
