Learn about what happens inside an American Kestrel nest box.

The American Kestrel is North America’s smallest falcon. A pair nested in a box on Tom LeBlanc’s property outside of Frewsburg, New York. He placed a camera inside the box and captured photos and video, which will be included as part of his presentation.

Tom LeBlanc has 20 years of experience as an environmental educator and field biologist and currently works for the New York State Office of Parks in the Allegany Region as a naturalist.  He received his bird banding permit in 1998, became a certified bird bander by the North American Banding Council in the fall of 2003, is currently the crew leader for a Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) station. He also serves as Principal Investigator in looking at changes in butterfly fauna and the status and ecology of the Northern Saw-whet Owls in Allegany State Park, NY.

Special Information: BYO brown bag lunch and conversation follows the program. Audubon supplies coffee and tea.
