Winter Walk and Wine Tasting (Adults 21 and over)

Have you ever heard the expression “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad preparation”? Too often people find themselves hibernating indoors all winter, when a world of wonder lies just outside in the snow. Explore the winter world on a hike then warm up inside with a wine tasting!

Join Audubon Community Nature Center for a naturalist-led hike through the winter woods and be sure to come dressed for the weather! Warm up after the hike in the Nature Center while enjoying a selection of wine tastings provided by Bag & Strings Wine Merchants’ trained staff members. Food pairings to be provided with each tasting. The walk will take place from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. and the wine tastings will begin shortly afterwards. Tastings will be at four stations spread throughout the Nature Center.

Sam Whitmore, of Bag & String Wine Merchants in Lakewood, New York, is a Level 1 certified Sommelier with 19 years of wine experience and knowledge. Prior to relocating to western New York, Sam had a 10-year career in the California wine industry and studied the science of wine and wine making, winery and hospitality management at UC Davis. All Bag & String Wine Merchants employees study and test for the Level 1 Sommelier and Levels 1 and 2 WSET (Wine and Spirits Educational Trust). The work and education of the Bag & String staff is done specifically to ensure that customers have a shopping experience that meets their wine and spirits needs.

Special Information: Please come dressed appropriately for being outside on a 30-minute hike including appropriate footwear. Space is limited, so please make sure to reserve your spot early.
