Winter days are often cold and dark, seemingly long and quiet. Embracing the winter is key to surviving it both mentally and physically. At Snowflake Daze: Embrace the Winter Event you can explore the winter landscape, learn about some activities that embrace the snow, and engage in some hibernation-friendly hobbies and crafts.

During each time slot (1.5 hours), you’ll be able to move through a series of activities. You are encouraged to choose what you’re most interested in, but move in order to facilitate the next group. First you can choose between a scavenger hunt or a self-guided nature hike. Next you can visit the backyard to play in the cardboard winter village, try ice bowling, cook s'mores over the campfire from a kit purchased at the kitchen, or visit in the Stephanie Frucella Education Pavilion. Finish inside the Nature Center to make a bird feeder from a milk carton, visit the exhibits, or watch a demonstration on fly tying. You may visit the Blue Heron Gift Shop or the exhibits after your session.

Franklin's Honey and Apples will be onsite selling kettle corn on Saturday.
