$30 for each Monarch Seed Selection
Skip the short-lived flower bouquet and give the gift of seeds this Valentine’s Day! Audubon’s carefully selected seed varieties will grow into a summer-long bouquet that attracts Monarchs and other butterflies.
ACNC’s Monarch Mix is made up of plants that thrive in full to partial sun. Each set of seeds includes separate envelopes of Purple Coneflower, Lance-leafed Coreopsis, Swamp Milkweed, Blue Vervain, and Mexican Sunflower. The Mexican Sunflowers (an annual plant) will bloom throughout the first summer and fall to attract migrating Monarchs while the other native perennials will take a year or so to become fully established and bloom.
All of these seeds flourish in regular soil types and all of the perennials are found in Audubon’s native garden in front of the Nature Center. Your purchase of seeds through Audubon helps to introduce more Monarch habitats to the area while supporting Audubon’s mission to connect people to nature.
The seeds come bundled with red twine in a gift bag with a booklet about the plants and how to plant them included.
Seed orders can be picked up at the Nature Center on Saturday, February 12. Orders can also be mailed with an additional $5.00 shipping and handling fee.
