Hand feed Monarchs and hold caterpillars while discovering more about them.

Join us to celebrate the life and times of the Monarch Butterfly. This once abundant butterfly has been disappearing from the landscape in recent years, though it is slowly recovering from record low populations.

Learn more about the plight of the Monarch and what you can do to help while enjoying live caterpillars and butterflies, use insect nets to catch insects around the pond, and watch volunteer researchers tag butterflies to help track their migration to Mexico.

There will also be nature hikes, food, Monarch tattoos, self-guided walks and more. Scouts and others can earn a Monarch Butterfly Patch.

The Monarchs and caterpillars will be inside the Nature Center, which is only open to Festival participants for the day. All Monarchs were hand raised at ACNC for this event and to increase the local Monarch population.

** Groups of ten (10) or more are eligible for special pricing if arrangements are made at least one week in advance. Stop by or call (716) 569-2345 during business hours with credit card in hand to register your group. Group rates are not available at the door. There are no refunds for group admissions, even if some members of your group do not attend. Group reservation deadline is August 24.

Special Information: Colorful clothes tend to attract the Monarchs. Be prepared for both inside and outside activities. Food, merchandise and patches are available for purchase.
